Lauren Riiff (Clementon, NJ) was the feature performer, recording a goal and two assists in the affair. She pushed the Griffins first-half lead to 2-0, before locating two teammates early in the second half, and another goal was added for good measure.
Chestnut Hill College (2-3) was a well-oiled machine against St. Thomas Aquinas College (1-4), firing 21 shots and controlling the ball with eight corner kick opportunities. Junior forward
Lyss Radetich (Sewell, NJ) got the Griffins started with an unassisted effort at the 25-minute mark. Riiff was next with a goal at 30:21. The Griffins carried the two-goal advantage into intermission and took little time afterwards to add to it. Riiff first found sophomore midfielder
Carly DiGiovanni (Seaville, NJ) with a chip at 53:21, 3-0, then found freshman defender
Morgan Fell (Boyertown, PA) with a cross just a minute later (54:31), 4-0. A late free kick converted by sophomore midfielder
Lauren Nolte (Wilmington, DE) made it 5-0 and that was more than enough for junior goalkeeper
Jessica Veazey (Middletown, DE) and her five saves to collect her first shutout of the season.
The women's soccer team returns home to resume their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with a 4:00 p.m. contest against Bloomfield College on Saturday, September 17.
