Gavin Reid (Dundee, Scotland) the Griffins grabbed the lead on the first collegiate goal of sophomore defenseman
Brooks Mirabella (Hockessin, DE), before a Reid added an insurance tally of his own for the 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory.
Play was competitive, but scoreless until Pugliese broke the stalemate with a direct-kick goal from 20-yards out, 1-0. Unfortunately, Goldey-Beacom College (0-5, 0-3) knotted the game just 4:46 into the second half. Play again evened out, but yet again Chestnut Hill College (4-4-1, 3-2) seized the advantage. This time Reid located Mirabella for the 2-1 lead. Soon after, Reid added a crucial insurance tally with a penalty-kick tally at 81:45.
Sophomore midfielder Andre Jank (Campo Grande, Brazil) was responsible for the lone Lightning goal, while senior forward Kwame Appiah (Frederick, MD) came off the bench to lead in shots with three. Junior goalkeeper Ignacio Farias (Maracay, Venezuela) made six saves in the loss.
