Box Score Newark, Del. – (10/16/2012) – In a highly combative Central Atlantic Collegiate College (CACC) affair, Wilmington University was the victor on their home field, 3-0, as they held Chestnut Hill College to only three shots amongst their 20. The Wildcats scored their first tally just before the 30-minute mark (29:48) and backed it twice in the second half, once off a corner kick (64:08) and once on an open goal (77:35).
A more opportunistic Wilmington University (8-7, 4-5) managed to grab a late 1-0 first-half lead when freshman defenseman Lance Berry (Bear, Del.) converted a free kick restart from 25-yards out on the left flank at 29:48, 1-0. Chestnut Hill College (5-10-1, 3-6) held the Wildcats to the one-goal lead until midway through the second half, as senior midfielder Kresimir Nurnberger (Zagreb, Croatia) found the head of junior forward Otis Williams (London, England) on a corner kick at 64:08, 2-0. Another Wildcat insurance goal came at 77:35, when freshman forward Reafe Anderson (Brampton, Ontario) put senior midfielder Zach Hinte (Virginia Beach, Va.) in front of an open goal halfway through the 78
th-minute (77:35).
Williams was one of three Wildcats tied with three shots. In goal, sophomore goalkeeper Spyros Stergiotis (Oakville, Ontario) made one save in the winning effort.
