10/23/2012 8:14:00 PM

Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (10/23/2012) - Offenses for both teams began by trading goals as Chestnut Hill College and Holy Family University reached a 3-3 stalemate at the end of the first half. The tie lasted until the 70th minute (70:05), when the Tiger's senior forward Megan Tole (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded the contest's last tally, 4-3. With the win, the Tigers now own the tiebreaker with the Griffins, as both teams sit with 7-5 conference records and await the close of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season for seeding in next week's CACC Championship Tournament.

Chestnut Hill College (7-10, 7-5) opened the scoring just past the five-minute mark (5:13), when junior forward Kaelyn Pizarro (Berlin, N.J.) recorded an unassisted goal off a deflected pass, 1-0. The Griffins lead stood for less than five minutes, as Holy Family University (7-10, 7-5) responded by scoring the next two tallies (10:40 and 14:46) within a nine-minute span, 2-1. The scoring, however, was not finished. The Griffins retaliated with senior midfielder Alyssa Radetich (Sewell N.J.) providing the assist on Pizarro's second goal, which came at 15:13, when she beat the Tiger goalkeeper to the preceding pass. At 38:24, the Griffins took back the lead, 3-2, when junior defender Lauren Nolte (Wilmington Del.) scored an unassisted goal off a corner-kick scramble. Unfortunately, the Tigers knotted the score once more before halftime, as  freshman forward Jenna Richards (Croydon, Pa.) converted a penalty kick in the 41st minute (41:19).

Following the high-scoring first half, the Griffins hoped to carry the momentum into the second half. However, it was the Tigers who held the advantage with an 18-3 shooting edge. The draw lasted until the 70th minute (70:05), when the Tiger's senior forward Megan Tole (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded the contest's last tally after gathering a pass that deflected off her own teammate, 4-3. Tole had the most success for the Tigers, but the offense was led by sophomore midfielder Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa.), who totaled seven shots in the fray. Senior goalkeeper Rachel Dunkle (Blandon, Pa.) made two saves in the win.

With 33 total shots attempted by the Tigers, Griffin goalkeeper, senior Jessica Veazey (Middletown, Del.), provided eleven saves to keep the home energy alive in the loss (6-9). Pizarro and sophomore midfielder Katherine Williams (Pennsauken, N.J.) totaled three shots apiece to lead the Griffins 12 strikes.

The women's soccer team will host Shippensburg University in a 4:00 p.m. contest this Thursday, October 25, as they honor annual Senior Day traditions by recognizing the Class of 2012 in their final regular game.
