Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (9/12/2012) – In non-conference competition, the Chestnut Hill College women's soccer team hosted Queens College in the first game of this afternoon's doubleheader at Victory Field #1. The Knights scored an early goal on a strike that sailed over the Griffins goalkeeper and to the back of the net, then added a second tally in the 62nd-minute to secure a 2-0 victory. The Griffins were led by two shots from junior forward Kaelyn Pizarro (Berlin, N.J.) and a ten-save performance from senior goalkeeper Jessica Veazey (Middletown, Del.).

Chestnut Hill College (1-4) controlled the midfield for most of the contest, but Queens College (3-1-1) made the most of their possessions, outshooting the Griffins 21-8 in the contest. Only 7:55 into the affair, senior defender Sarah Boucher (Oceanside, N.Y.) gave the Knights their first goal, lobbing a strike from the far left of the field over the Griffin goalkeeper, 1-0. The Griffins looked to tie the contest with several corner kicks and scoring opportunities, but the Knights narrow lead would hold until intermission. After the break, the Knights and Griffins exchanged attacks on goal. The Knights were successful at 61:30, when Nicollete Scrozzo targeted junior midfielder Emma Ylias (Perth, Australia) for a score from center pitch, 2-0. The Griffins were able to put pressure on the Knights with some late corner kicks, unfortunately the home team came away empty handed.

Freshman midfielder Gena Koutsounadis (Flushing, N.Y.) finished scoreless, but led the Knights with five shots on the Griffin goal. Senior goalkeeper Allison Breakey (Frankford, Ill.) made four saves in the shutout victory (3-1-1). Veazey took the loss (1-4) for the Griffins, despite making ten saves.
