Box Score Caldwell, N.J. – (9/22/2012) – Junior forward Julie Crankshaw (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) scored Caldwell College's first two goals and assisted on the third to lead the Cougars past Chestnut Hill College in today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest, 4-0. Three Griffins recorded a shot, but the Cougar goalkeeper was there to preserve the shutout.

Crankshaw scored her first goal early in the opening half, heading a Caldwell College (6-2, 3-0) corner kick into the Chestnut Hill College (3-5, 3-1) goal at 8:25. The Griffins only got one attempt on the Cougar goal in the first half, unfortunately it was denied by the Cougars senior goalkeeper, Kristina Cabales (Islip Terrace, N.Y.). In the second half, the Cougars overpowered the Griffins with three unanswered goals. Crankshaw and junior midfielder Carissa Strye (Nazareth, Pa.) hooked up on the first two tallies, Crankshaw scoring her second off a Strye feed at 70:18, 2-0, and then finding Styre on a throw in for the Cougars third goal, 3-0, a little more than a minute later (71:41). A fourth Cougar goal came off a loose ball opportunity in the 88th minute (87:05).

Cabales made three saves to earn the win (6-2) for the Cougars. For the Griffins, junior forward Kaelyn Pizarro (Berlin, N.J.), sophomore midfielder Katherine Williams (Pennsauken, N.J.), and freshman Courtney Weidner (Philadelphia, Pa.) each recorded a shot, while sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Pauls (South Plainfield, N.J.) made seven saves in the losing effort (0-1).

The women's soccer team travels to Georgian Court University on Tuesday, September 25, for their next CACC contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
