Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (10/5/2013) – Chestnut Hill College applied the early pressure, but Caldwell College countered the home momentum with the game's first goal. The visiting Cougars extended their advantage to 2-0 just before halftime and relied on the goalkeeping of junior Robin Franchi (Sewell, N.J.) to hold on for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win. Senior forward Kaelyn Pizarro (Berlin, N.J.) attempted seven of the Griffins 15 shots.

After the opening kickoff, Chestnut Hill College (2-5-1, 2-2-1) and Caldwell College (5-3-2, 4-0-2) traded corner kicks. The Cougars would be the first to make something of their opportunities, doing so at 26:08, when senior forward Julie Crankshaw (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) scored a loose corner restart for the visitor's first goal, 1-0. They came on again just before halftime with junior forward Melissa Stec (Salt Point, N.Y.) feeding senior midfielder Carissa Strye (Nazareth, Pa.) for a touch goal from the center of the pitch at 41:19, 2-0. Unfortunately for the Griffins, minus the Cougar goals, the second half reflected the first. The Cougars outshot the Griffins 12-7 in the frame and 24-15 in the contest, but the home team did have their chances with a slight 8-6 corner kick edge.

Junior forward Natalie Migoya (Lincoln Park, N.J.) led the Cougar attack with four shots, but Strye and Cranshaw were more accurate shooters with three and two shots, respectively. Franchi made seven saves in the win (5-3-2).

Pizarro provided the Griffins pulse with her team-high seven shots while junior goalkeeper Samantha Pauls (South Plainfield, N.J.) made seven saves in the defeat (2-6-1).

The women's soccer team will complete their recent five-game home stand with a 7:00 p.m. CACC contest against Philadelphia University on Tuesday, October 8.
