Chestnut Hill College (0-1) took the role of aggressor early against Mercy College (1-0), but the Mavericks quickly reversed the momentum with Flynn's tally coming just before the 19-minute mark of the first half (25:58). The Griffins took the game's first shot and six corner kicks before Flynn settled and scored a pass from sophomore midfielder Christian Diaz (Watsonville, Calif.).
