Victoria Fioretti (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) tied this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at Nyack College just after the halftime break, 1-1 at 46:29. Unfortunately, freshman forward Rebekah Lawler (Forked River, N.J.) scored her second goal of the affair at 60:50 to earn the Warriors a 2-1 league win on their home field.
Nyack College (3-12, 3-6) controlled play off the opening kickoff and the momentum paid off with an unassisted strike from Lawler earning them a 1-0 lead at 21:22. The Warriors out-shot Chestnut Hill College (2-11, 2-7) 9-1 in the period and maintained their one-goal advantage to halftime. After intermission, it only took the Griffins 1:29 to tie the contest as Fioretti scored on the first opportunity of the frame. The 1-1 stalemate lasted a little over 14 minutes before ending at 60:50 when Lawler scored her second goal to ensure the Warriors the conference win.
Lawler scored her two goals on just three shots. She was one of two Warriors with three shots in a 16-shot effort. Senior goalkeeper Madeline Barbarino (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded two saves in the win (4-6).

The women's soccer team returns to Victory Field #1 on Tuesday, October 21, to begin a three-game home stand with a 4:00 p.m. contest against Goldey-Beacom College.
