Box Score Bloomsburg, Pa. - (9/16/2014) – Senior midfielder Katherine Williams (Pennsauken, N.J.) tied the affair with just 1:37 remaining in the opening half, 1-1, but the second half was the tale of the tape today as Bloomsburg University used a 17-4 second-half shot advantage to defeat Chestnut Hill College by a 3-1 margin.

Bloomsburg University (3-2) drew first blood in a competitive first half with junior midfielder Stephanie Tuccio (Exton, Pa.) garnering the attention of the Chestnut Hill College (0-4) goalkeeper and setting sophomore midfielder Allie Camp (Beavertown, Pa.) up with an empty net at 25:58. She converted the strike to give the home team a 1-0 lead, which they nearly held until halftime as Williams brought all things even at 43:23, when she scored a blast from 25 yards out, 1-1. After intermission, the Huskies regained their composure and began to pressure the Griffin defense. The Huskies shots started to pile up and soon overwhelmed senior goalkeeper Samantha Pauls (South Plainfield, N.J.), who surrendered the game-winning-goal off a deflection at 76:53, 2-1, and an insurance tally at 85:20, 3-1.

Camp and junior forward Ashley Sanchez (Lyndhurst, Pa.) came off the bench to headline the Huskies offense with eight and five shots, respectively. Camp added an assist to her goal, setting up Sanchez for the Huskies third tally. Junior defense Brooke Etter (Elizabethtown, Pa.) accounted for the other Huskies goal while freshman goalkeeper Megan Deak (West Islip, N.Y.) earned the win (3-1) with seven saves.

Williams' four shots topped the Griffins half of the box score with senior midfielder Leanna Ashcom (Philadelphia, Pa.), senior midfielder Morgan Fell (Boyertown, Pa.), junior midfielder Danielle Spinuzza (Williamstown, N.J.), and junior midfielder Victoria Fedora (East McKeesport, Pa.) accounting for the other four attempts. Pauls totaled 14 saves in the loss (0-4).
