Box Score Orangeburg, N.Y. – (9/28/2014) – The Griffins had trouble getting anything going today as an early Dominican College goal left Chestnut Hill College chasing in a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) final. Freshman defenseman Joseph McGuigan (Philadelphia, Pa.) and senior Juan Amaya (Cartagena, Columbia) both took aim, but neither found goal in the Griffins first league loss of the season.
 
Chestnut Hill College (3-4-1, 3-1-1) entered today's contest at Dominican College (4-3, 3-2) fresh off their third straight CACC win, two of which came against nationally ranked rivals. The Chargers controlled a conservative contest thanks to a 9-2 shot advantage and a connection between sophomore defender Panagiotis Kanganis (Patras, Greece) and freshman defender Hallvard Kuloey (Bergen, Norway) at 13:08, 1-0. McGuigan recorded the Griffins only shot of the first half, while Amaya offered the only one of the second half on the affair's final shot (85:17), but came away empty handed.
 
Kuloey was one of three Chargers with two shots, but he was the only one to score on either side. The home team outshot the Griffins 9-2 overall, while sophomore goalkeeper Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) recorded one save in the win (4-3).
 
Many of the Chargers chances went either high or wide as sophomore goalkeeper James Jackson (Sewell, N.J.) made only one save in the Griffin loss (3-3-1).    
 
The men's soccer team breaks from CACC play to visit East Stroudsburg University for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday, October, 1.
