Philadelphia, Pa. - (3/2/2015) – "The Chestnut Hill College Department of Athletics is excited to recognize Brittingham's as a partner and friend of GriffinNation," championed Director of Athletics and Recreation Lynn Tubman. Brittingham's of Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, has signed on as the first official partner of Chestnut Hill College Athletics. The recently redesigned landmark will now serve as the preferred eatery of GriffinNation. Established in 1743, the iconic Irish pub now offers postgame discounts and preferred event scheduling to all members of the Chestnut Hill College community.

Tubman further expressed the College's enthusiasm for the potential benefits of the partnership: "We believe Brittingham's is the ideal location and venue to host fans, families, and alumni for a variety of events during all of our intercollegiate seasons. We are hoping this partnership strengthens our relationship with our local communities and in turn increases support for Griffin athletics."

Serving as the first of many in the Griffins future partnership portfolio, Brittingham's will receive various mediums of game-day advertisement including, but not limited to, live and recorded audio reads during Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) Williamsport broadcasts, live in-arena reads during men's and women's basketball games, in-arena signage, as well as ad space in Chestnut Hill College's game-day programs and on GriffinAthletics.com. In the coming years, Tubman will continue to grow the College's list of corporate partners, who will become increasingly important for the future plans of the department.

The College officially announced the additions of Sprint Football, Women's Bowling, and Cheerleading to the Athletics catalog in fall of 2014. Joining the ranks of prestigious Ivy League universities and military academies that play football for the love of the game, Chestnut Hill College is the ninth team to join the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL), finding itself in good company alongside competing Ivy League institutions including Cornell University, Princeton University, and the University of Pennsylvania; service schools including West Point and the Naval Academy; a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Post University; and Franklin Pierce University and Mansfield University.

A recent assistant with Lock Haven University (2014-present) and the CSFL program at Mansfield University (2011-2014), Head Coach Mike Pearson has the experience and demeanor to lead the Griffins into a new arena of collegiate athletics.

Tubman also recently announced Michael Blakeney as the College's first head women's bowling coach. A collegiate bowler for Vincennes University (1998-2000) and Temple University (2004-2008), Blakeney has a strong foundation of experience in the sport, having spent four years as head coach of the women's bowling program at Cheyney University (2008-2012) and a decade as head coach for the boys' and girls' bowling teams at Cardinal O'Hara High School (2002-2012), where he led the Lions to a Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) championship in 2008.

As a direct result of the College's energized support of its athletic programs, Tubman recently announced a broadcast partnership with ESPN Williamsport. "As the College continues to grow and strive for Uncommon Excellence, we will continue to look for new and innovative ways to grow GriffinNation in that ideal. This partnership with ESPN Williamsport is the first step in providing our students, student-athletes, family, and fans with a product they can be proud of," trumpeted Tubman. Developing a relationship over the past few months, Chestnut Hill College and ESPN Williamsport have entered into an agreement that will provide GriffinNation with professional, web-based broadcasts for the 2014-2015 basketball seasons with a possible extension for the Griffins' upcoming inaugural sprint football season.
