Box Score Lakewood, N.J. - (10/18/2016) – Chestnut Hill College's five-game unbeaten streak came to a close this afternoon as the Griffins suffered a 5-1 setback at current Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) leader, Georgian Court University. Freshman forward Cecilia DuMond (Philadelphia, Pa.) netted the only Scarlet and Gold goal of the game, scoring off a midfield feed from senior defender Annalyse Culp (Clayton, N.J.) for the contest's initial tally at 25:09.

DuMond chipped the Culp serve for a high bounce that stayed out the Georgian Court University (10-3-1, 8-1-1) goalkeeper's reach. It was the second and last Chestnut Hill College (4-9-2, 2-7-1) shot of the opening frame as the Lions used an 18-2 first-half shot advantage to tie the contest by halftime, 1-1, and overrun the Griffins in a 5-1 league final. Junior forward Lizzy Kroon (Bayville, N.J.) bookended intermission with a pair of goals, scoring the Lions' first tally with a swipe to the lower right corner of the net at 30:59 and giving the home team a 2-1 advantage with a converted penalty kick at 50:46. A third Georgian Court University goal was scored on a loose ball in front of the Griffin net at 53:15 (3-1), the fourth on a one-timer at 67:11 (4-1), and a fifth on a 20-yard, one-touch blast at 71:29 (5-1).

Georgian Court University outshot Chestnut Hill College 32-7 in the contest. The barrage was led by Kroon and senior midfielder Tayler Bramley (Sparta, N.J.), who each supplied seven shots. Freshman goalkeeper Natalie Axelsson (Galloway, N.J.) (10-3-1) made four saves.

DuMond headlined the Griffin effort with three shots. Four others contributed one apiece, including sophomore midfielder Brianna Ferrell (Newtown Square, Pa.), junior forward Morgan Ruth (Blackwood, N.J.), freshman midfielder Sabrina Shinkowitz (Stratford, N.J.), and freshman midfielder Geena DiRugeris (Woodbury, N.J.). Junior goalkeeper Meghan Guagenti (Pennsauken, N.J.) (3-7-1) made five saves in the opening 72:07 while freshman goalkeeper Leah Peshkin (Haddon Heights, N.J.) covered the Griffin goal without blemish for the final 17:53.
