Box Score Lakewood, N.J. - (10/19/2016) – Georgian Court University made good use of their two first-half shots, seizing an early 2-0 advantage over Chestnut Hill College in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) road contest. The Lions used the momentum to register three more scores in the second half and collect a 5-0 league win. The Griffins split their six shots among six players, half the attempts reached the Lions' goalkeeper, requiring three saves.
An early corner kick opportunity resulted in the first Georgian Court University (9-5-1, 6-3-1) goal a little more than five minutes (5:23) into the affair as a loose serve was completed by a successful strike from senior forward Michael Clarke (Essex, England) (1-0). He added a second score less than three minutes later (8:19), completing a cross from junior midfielder George Kavarakas (Oakhurst, N.J.) with a one-timer to the lower right corner of the Chestnut Hill College (4-9, 3-7) goal (2-0). The Lions' prompt progress carried through intermission and expanded afterwards as a well-played free kick pushed the home advantage to 3-0 at 49:53, a third Clarke goal made it 4-0 at 62:23, and a fifth tally came just before the final five minutes (5-0 @ 85:20).
Clarke recorded this hat trick with just three shots. The other Lions scores were provided by junior midfielder Ben Alhadif (Ramat Gan, Israel) and sophomore midfielder Will Green (Marlton, N.J.). In goal, senior Sebastian Mikuska (Augsburg, Germany) (3-0) made three saves.
