Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (9/10/2016) – Chestnut Hill College managed to fend off the Post University assaults until late in the second period of today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season opener as Eagle goals at 63:17 and 77:19 brought about the Griffins' demise. Senior defenseman Nils Fussen (Aachen, Germany) headlined the Scarlet and Gold effort from the backfield with two of the Griffins' nine shots while senior goalkeeper James Jackson (Sewell, N.J.) (0-3) made nine saves in the loss.
 
The more aggressive Post University (2-2, 1-0) game plan put Chestnut Hill College (0-3, 0-1) on the defensive for most of the contest. Behind his backline, comprised of Fussen, senior Joseph McGuigan (Philadelphia, Pa.), junior Jordan Arpan (Exton, Pa.), and freshman Michael Riscioli (Turnersville, N.J.), Jackson was able to delay the Eagles until the latter portion of the second half. At 63:17 the visitors broke through with a long serve from the left side to the head of sophomore midfielder Andre Riello (Sao Paulo, Brazil) (1-0). They added to their advantage at 77:19, when a tick-tack-toe connection ended with the left foot of junior midfielder Kenu Walker (Kingston, Jamaica) (2-0).
 
Senior midfielder Abdallah Bah (St. Paul, Minn.) led the Eagles with five shots, he was one of 19 that contributed to a 29-9 shot advantage. In goal, senior Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) (2-2) made one save as sophomore forward Jason Burns (Douglassville, Pa.) was the only Griffin to put a shot on goal for Chestnut Hill College.
 
The Chestnut Hill College men's soccer team resumes their CACC schedule on Tuesday, September 13, when travel to Wilmington University for a 4:00 p.m. league contest.
