Box Score Bloomsburg, Pa. - (9/20/2016) – Shots were hard to come by for Chestnut Hill College, who only recorded five in this evening's 5-0 loss at Bloomsburg University. Freshman forward
Cecilia DuMond (Philadelphia, Pa.) took three of the Griffins strikes, but the Huskies controlled their home pitch with a 23-5 shot advantage that earned them a 3-0 halftime lead and the eventual victory.
The Bloomsburg University (3-2-2) shot advantage made its first mark on the game at 18:31, when a Husky connection down the left side ended with a centering pass and a successful strike from senior midfielder Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove, Pa.) (1-0). The Huskies added to their early lead over Chestnut Hill College (1-5) with a penalty kick score just five minutes later (23:18, 2-0) and a fruitful corner kick restart late in the first half (43:05, 3-0). After intermission, the shot differential continued to be felt with a fourth Husky goal coming at 47:14 (4-0) and a fifth at 62:11 (5-0).
DuMond launched two of her shots in the opening frame. Neither found its target with the first blocked by a Husky and the second sailing wide right. She had her third go at the net early in the second half. That one was on course, but it was stopped on its path by sophomore goalkeeper Devon Haviland (Warminster, Pa.) (3-2-2), who totaled three saves. Sophomore midfielder
Brianna Ferrell (Newtown Square, Pa.) and junior
Kiersten Cobb-Wilkins (Lowman, N.Y.) were responsible for the other Griffin shots while freshman
Leah Peshkin (Haddon Heights, N.J.) (0-1) made five saves in her first collegiate start.
