Box Score Bronxville, N.Y. - (10/14/2017) – Junior midfielder Brianna Ferrell (Newtown Square, Pa.) scored her first goal of the season to break up the shutout in their afternoon's 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss at Concordia College (NY). Despite a 12-3 shot differential, Chestnut Hill College held the Clippers scoreless in the first half. All the action came in the latter frame with the home side scoring the necessary goals at 59:17, 67:42, and 83:19.
 
In the first half, Chestnut Hill College (2-11, 2-8) interrupted the clusters of Concordia College (2-11, 2-7) attempts with fruitless strikes by junior midfielder Molly Sullivan (Pasco, Wash.), sophomore defenseman Geena DiRugeris (Woodbury, N.J.), and senior forward Morgan Ruth (Blackwood, N.J.). All three shots were met by freshman goalkeeper Christina Majdanski (Yonkers, N.Y.), who made two more second-half saves for a total of five in her first win (1-7) of the season. But she would not have earned it without her teammates scoring three goals in the concluding frame. The first came at 59:17 on a long cross from sophomore forward Sara Clavert (Apple Valley, Calif.) to sophomore forward Taylor Luxoro (Staten Island, N.Y.), the second on a turnover in the Griffin backfield at 67:42 (Iantomasi, unassisted), and the third on connection from graduate forward Amanda Astudillo (Westbury, N.Y.) and junior forward Dana Darcy (Plainedge, N.Y.). Ferrell's goal came unassisted, a minute after Concordia College's last score, 3-1 (84:13).
 
Ferrell, Sullivan, and DiRugeris each took two shots. Senior goalkeeper Meghan Guagenti (Pennsauken, N.J.) recorded six saves in the loss (1-6).
 
Chestnut Hill College returns to the Campus Field on Wednesday, October 18, to host Jefferson University in a 3:30 p.m. CACC contest.
