Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (10/3/2017) – For the Chestnut Hill College men's soccer team, today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competition took place at Holy Family University. The Tigers capitalized on a pair of early goals (6:43, 10:30) with an eventual 5-0 league victory over the Griffins. Senior midfielder
Vini Brito (Sao Paulo, Brazil) recorded four of the Scarlet and Gold's 13 shots.
Holy Family University (3-8, 2-5) took advantage of a Chestnut Hill College (4-7, 3-4) miscue to grab a 1-0 lead over the Griffins just 6:43 into the league affair. They added to their position just four minutes later (10:30), when freshman forward Mike Smith (Southampton, Pa.) rebounded an initial Tiger strike for their second goal of the first half, 2-0. The difference reached 3-0 before halftime as the home team completed a 40-yard free kick with a successful header at 36:15. Holy Family University only added to their success in the second half as Tiger insurance goals came at 56:08 and 63:51.
Smith led the Tigers with four shots. Junior Mark Pohl (Feasterville, Pa.) made four saves in the win (3-8).
