Box Score Wilmington, Del. - (9/12/2017) – The Chestnut Hill College women's soccer team continued their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season this afternoon at Goldey-Beacom College, where the Lightning struck a 4-0 victory off of a 30-6 shot advantage and a 12-2 edge in corner kick opportunities. Goldey-Beacom College scored their first goal just 3:23 after the opening kickoff and expanded advantage to a 2-0 halftime lead before doubling it in the latter half. Junior midfielder Jacquelyn Rhodes (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Griffins with two shots.

Junior forward Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) scored the Lightning's first goal on the very first shot of the contest, successfully landing a strike from 30 yards out just inside the right post at 3:23, 1-0. After a responsorial shot by junior midfielder Molly Sullivan (Pasco, Wash.) missed its mark (4:27), Chestnut Hill College (0-4, 0-2) endured a flurry of Goldey-Beacom College (4-0-1, 3-0) assaults that ended with a 10-yard finish from freshman forward Alanna Speaks (Wilmington, Del.) at 13:52, 2-0. Following the tally, the Lightning kept the pressure on the Griffin defense, which endured their attempts through to intermission.

It was not until after the Lightning's third strike – a completed corner kick at 52:11 (3-0) – that Chestnut Hill College was able to make any headway as Rhodes put a shot on the Goldey-Beacom College goal at 52:50 that gave the Griffins a follow up corner kick restart. Senior defender Kylee Jazikoff (Brick, N.J.) served it to the box, but the Scarlet and Gold came away empty handed. The Griffins had another corner opportunity midway through the 69th minute (69:24), but once again were unsuccessful, leaving the Lightning to add their fourth unanswered goal at 72:02, 4-0.

Freshman forward Taylor Owen (East Pennsboro, Pa.) led Goldey-Beacom College with seven shots. Junior Marta Lopez (Valencia, Spain) and freshman Alyssa Angilletta (Westmont, N.J.) split time in goal for the Lightning; the former earned the win (3-0-1) with one save in the opening 78:49, while the latter recorded one save in the final 11:11.

In addition to Rhodes, Chestnut Hill College shots were recorded by Jazikoff, junior forward Brianna Ferrell (Newtown Square, Pa.), junior midfielder Molly Sullivan (Pasco, Wash.), and junior midfielder Marikate O'Toole (Philadelphia, Pa.). Sophomore goalkeeper Leah Peshkin (Haddon Heights, N.J.) recorded a career-high 12 saves in the loss (0-2).

The Chestnut Hill College women's soccer team returns to the Campus Field on Saturday, September 16, to host Dominican College in a 12:00 p.m. (noon) CACC contest.
