But once the stalemate was broken, the home team increased their advantage quickly as Rebolledo-Camus connected for his second score just 34 seconds (45:34) after the break, a third Maverick goal came before the 50-minute (49:46) mark, and later a third Rebolledo-Camus tally pushed the Mavericks' lead to 4-0 before the final horn. The opening deadlock between Chestnut Hill College (0-2) and Mercy College (1-1) ended when Rebolledo-Camus successfully headed a cross for the contest's first tally at 40:42, 1-0. With a goal in hand, the Mavericks added to their advantage on their first shot of the second half as Rebolledo-Camus completed another cross at 45:34, 2-0. Senior midfielder Haxhi Verjoni (Cornwall, N.Y.) made it 3-0 just four minutes later (3-0 at 49:46) and less than 10 minutes (58:25) after that, Rebolledo completed his hat-trick on a through ball from 20 yards out, 4-0.
