Joseph Casaletto (Sewell, N.J.) added to the drama of a 3-2 league final with his third goal of the season.
Buscemi appeared almost out of nowhere to complete a long cross from sophomore midfielder
Paris Bruhn (Horst Holstein, Germany) at 12:26, 1-0. That Chestnut Hill College (3-6, 2-3) lead held until 34:14, when sophomore forward Javel Dawkins (Waretown, N.J.) wiggled through the Griffin defense to knot the contest at 1-1.
After halftime the minutes rolled off the clock until a Lion restart just past midfield resulted in a visitor tally on a centering pass from sophomore defenseman Michael Trapp (Toms River, N.J.) to senior midfielder Gustavo Gomez (West Deptford, N.J.) at 65:16, 2-1. Georgian Court University added to their lead nearly 15 minutes later (80:13), when senior midfielder George Kavarakas (Oakhurst, N.J.) put junior midfielder Daniel Vicente (Kearny, N.J.) one-on-one with the keeper, 3-1. Just two minutes later (82:16), amidst a flurry of action, Casaletto scored a Scarlet and Gold tally, 3-2, unfortunately, the goal was not enough overcome the Lions.
Vincente led the Lions with five shots and his game-winning-goal. Georgian Court University led in an 18-15 shot advantage and a 4-0 corner kick edge in the affair. In goal, sophomore Yianni Kavarakas (Oakhurst, N.J.) made three saves in the win (6-2-2).
