Griffins Celebrate Senior Day in Final Season Matchup Against Wildcats

Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (10/27/2018) – Chestnut Hill College gave their four seniors, midfielder Marikate O'Toole (Philadelphia, Pa.), midfielder Macailagh Smith (Red Bank, N.J.), defender Brianna Ferrell (Newtown Square, Pa.), and midfielder Molly Sullivan (Pasco, Wash.), a celebratory send-off prior to today's season finale against Daeman College. Unfortunately, the Griffins were unable to keep up with the Wildcats pressure, falling to them 6-0.  Junior goalkeeper Leah Peshkin (Haddon Heights, N.J.) gave a 15 saves performance in the loss.

Peshkin gave a gallant effort in handling the assaults in the first half, collecting eight of her 15 saves in tht period. Despite her efforts, Daeman College (8-7-1) let off nine shot-attempts within the first 10 minutes against Chestnut Hill College (3-13-1), until they finally tallied back-to-back goals at 13:04 and 15:14 (2-0).  O'Toole and junior midfielder Sabrina Shinkowitz (Stratford, N.J.) recorded the Griffin's only shot attempts of the period, but could not convert resulting in the 2-0 halftime score.  The Wildcats went into overdrive in the second half, notching four more goals (55:35, 64:27, 81:59, 82:43) by the end of the final half resulting in the 6-0 defeat.

Junior forward Jamie Boyar (Williamsville, N.Y.) headlined for Daeman College with two goals (13 shots), followed by one goal each from sophomore midfielder Sam Hanes (North Tonawanda, N.J.) (4 shots, 1 assist), senior midfielder Sarah Brirtton (Syracuse, N.Y.) (1 shot), sophomore midfielder Katja Meyer (Verona, N.Y.) (1 shot, 1 assist), and sophomore midfielder Celia de Pablo Esteban (Burgos, Spain) (7 shots, 1 assist). 
 
O'Toole gave the Griffin's the most scoring opportunities with two shots, while Smith, Ferrell, sophomore forward Gabby Fanfarillo (Glassboro, N.J.), and Shinkowitz all produced one shot each. Peshkin took the loss (3-6) with her 15 saves.
