Chestnut Hill College Concludes 2019 Season With 1-0 Loss at Holy Family University

Philadelphia, Pa. - (11/6/2019) – Chestnut Hill College concluded their 2019 season with this afternoon's 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss at Holy Family University. The Tigers drew a penalty kick during the 23rd minute (22:24) and followed it with a series of shots that resulted in the game's lone tally. Sophomore forward Maddie Jimenez (Bensalem, Pa.) (2 shots), senior forward Nicole Cahill (Glendora, N.J.) (1), senior defender Sabrina Shinkowitz (Stratford, N.J.) (1), and senior defender Elizabeth McCormick (Philadelphia, Pa.) (1) were responsible for the Griffins' chances.

Holy Family University (8-8-1, 8-3-1) controlled the ball for a majority of the afternoon as they outshot Chestnut Hill College (4-14, 2-10) by a 24-5 margin. Their early pressure led to the game's only goal as junior defender Hannah Derby (Pitman, N.J.) finished a feed from freshman defender Hannah Florentino (Philadelphia, Pa.) at 22:41, 1-0. The Griffins had their chances to match the tally immediately with Cahill serving a pair of corner kicks for shots during the 32nd minute (31:27, 31:40). Unfortunately, the Scarlet and Gold was not able to cash in on their opportunities, which were scarce in the second half. There, a 60th-minute (59:53) strike from Jimenez served as the Griffins' only opportunity. It was denied by junior goalkeeper Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa.), who earned the shutout win with three saves overall.

Senior defender Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) did not score, but took a majority of the Tigers' shots with six of their 24. Derby scored her goal as one of three shots.

For the Griffins, junior goalkeeper Paris Banks (Philadelphia, Pa.) made nine saves in the loss (2-8).

Chestnut Hill College finishes the 2019 season with a 4-14 overall record and a 2-10 CACC standing.
