Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (9/7/2019) – After over 100 minutes (101:20) of intense competition it was a well-played cross from graduate student Teun Jacobs (Arcen, Netherlands) to junior forward Michael Tolley (York, Pa.) that gave East Stroudsburg University nod over Chestnut Hill College, 2-1. The Warriors scored the first goal of the game on a restart midway through first half (1-0, 24:30) only for senior defenseman
Paris Bruhn (Horst Holstein, Germany) to even the contest before halftime with a brilliant corner kick goal at the 34-minute mark (34:00).
The early give-and-take was sorted out with an East Stroudsburg University (1-0) goal midway through the 25
th minute (24:30). The one-timed restart gave the Warriors the initial 1-0 lead over Chestnut Hill College (1-1), who did not truly get an opportunity to answer until Bruhn bent a corner kick to the far left corner of the Warrior goal 10 minutes later (34:00). The Griffins tried to build on the momentum and earned a penalty kick at just past the 38-minute mark (38:07) Unfortunately, Chestnut Hill College did not take advantage of the opportunity and the contest reached halftime in a 1-1 tie. The score remained tied for the next 56 minutes as regulation ended and overtime began at Victory Field #1. The Griffins' – who outshot the Warriors 17-13 in regulation – did not record a shot in overtime. Conversely, East Stroudsburg University offered the only extra-frame attempts; just after the start of the second, Jacobs crossed the ball to Tolley's timely foot for the game-winner, 2-1 (101:20).
Graduate student Duarte Ferreira (Lisbon, Portugal) recorded a team-high four shots for East Stroudsburg University. The Warriors initial tally was scored on a one-timed restart from junior defenseman Oliver Lundberg (Sundyberg, Sweden) to senior midfielder Marcus Torgersson (Gothenburg, Sweden). Sophomore goalkeeper Evan Miele (Randolph, N.J.) (1-0) totaled five saves in the win.

Chestnut Hill College returns to Victory Field #1 on Wednesday, September 11, when they host Shippensburg University in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
