Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Jimenez Scores Lone Goal in Griffins Season-Ending Loss to Wildcats

Becomes 8th player in program history to score 10 or more goals in a season

Maddie Jimenez scored her tenth goal of the season but the Chestnut Hill Women's Soccer team lost at Wilmington University 3-1 in their final game of the 2021 season.

The Griffins finish with a 6-8-1 overall record and a 4-7 mark in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games. Chestnut Hill's six wins are the most in a season by the women's soccer program since 2012 when the team went 8-11 and the Griffins four CACC wins are the most since the 2013 season.

Jimenez's goal in the opening minutes of the second half cut the Wildcats lead to 2-1. Maddie took a long ball over the top from Olivia Medeiros and got past the defense to score. With the goal, Jimenez becomes just the eighth player in program history to record at least ten goals in a season and the first since Carly Digiovanni had 16 in 2012.

Bri Hewlett had six saves in goal for the Griffins, finishing the season with 89 saves, currently the most in the CACC.

Wilmington outshot Chestnut Hill 20-9 (9-4 on goal).  The wildcats got their first goal on a penalty kick and added a second less than a minute later to lead 2-0 at the half.  They added a third goal in the 63rd minute to round out the scoring.
