Chestnut Hill College Closes Regular Season With CACC Loss to Clippers

Philadelphia, Pa. - (4/27/2021) – Chestnut Hill College concluded their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and regular-season schedules with today's afternoon match versus #21 Concordia College (NY). The Clippers gave the Griffins little grace in the affair as they claimed victories in each doubles and singles match for a 7-0 win. Juniors, Tom Pitchley (London, England) and Kiki Dagneaux (Saint-Gervasy, France) forced number one doubles to a playoff, 7-6 (1). Dagneaux took the first set of number three singles to a tiebreaker (7-6 (2), 6-4), before freshman Domagoj Dugandzic (Stuttgart, Germany) took the second set of number five singles to a tiebreaker (7-5, 7-6 (6)).
 
Concordia College (10-0, 8-0) completed their perfect CACC season their second league victory over Chestnut Hill College (6-4, 5-3). The Clippers first claimed the doubles point, 1-0, winning the second and third doubles flights by 6-2 finals. Pitchley and Dagneaux made the top team flight last a little longer, delaying their Concordia College counterparts to a 7-6 (1) end.
 
In singles, the Clippers clinched the match-victory with individual wins in the sixth (6-1, 6-2), first (6-4, 6-1), and fourth (6-3, 6-2) flights, 4-0. They additionally scored in the second (6-3, 6-4) singles match, 5-0, before Dugandzic and Dagneaux respectively delayed they end of the fifth (7-5, 7-6 (6)) and third (7-6 (2), 6-4) singles flights.
 
As the #2 seed in the upcoming 2021 CACC Men's Tennis Championship Tournament, Chestnut Hill College is scheduled to host #3 Thomas Jefferson University in a 2:30 p.m. semifinal on Friday, April 30.
