Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (9/16/2021) - With time racing off the clock in the second overtime period of this evening's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener, a Goldey-Beacom College (1-3, 0-1) hand ball in the box granted Chestnut Hill College (2-1-1, 1-0) the opportunity to score a win on the two-year anniversary of Head Coach Sandy Dickson's passing. Freshman forward Lizzie Stokes (Philadelphia, Pa.) made sure the chance counted as she buried the penalty kick to the left of the Lightning goalkeeper with 40 seconds (109:20) and change remaining on the game clock; 2-1 (2OT).
 

Goldey-Beacom College controlled the ball early, but Chestnut Hill College made better use of their shots as senior forward Maddie Jimenez (Bensalem, Pa.) scored on the first Scarlet and Gold shot of the night; 1-0 (9:58). The Griffin captain gathered her own rebound, dribbled to her left and fired a shot to the back of the Lightning goal. Goldey-Beacom College tied the contest just after halftime (48:06) as senior forward Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) collected her own restart rebound and pushed it past senior goalkeeper Bri Hewlett (North Wales, Pa.); 1-1.

Jimenez recorded six of the Griffins' 17 shots with sophomore defender Caitlin Geiger (Philadelphia, Pa.) offering four of the others. Hewlett (2-1-1) totaled eight saves in the 109:20 minutes.

Chestnut Hill College breaks from their CACC schedule to visit Molloy College for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff on Thursday, September 23.
