Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (9/29/2021) - Chestnut Hill College (0-5-3) scored the first two goals of this evening's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest versus Holy Family University (3-4-0, 2-1-0), but the Tigers capitalized on a few late opportunities to turn the tide in a 3-2 double-overtime final. After senior midfielder Diego Cabrera (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) headed a restart from freshman Matt Fuentes (Howell, N.J.) to the back of the Holy Family University goal at 15:05, the Scarlet and Gold added to their lead when freshman forward Andrey McIntyre (Hanover, Jamaica) buried the second of two consecutive Griffin penalty kicks in the back of the Tiger goal at 58:12, 2-0.

Unfortunately, the momentum of the game began to shift down the stretch as a corner kick from senior midfielder Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados) ended up at the feet of senior midfielder Sean McCormick (Philadelphia, Pa.) and then back to Richmond for a serve to the head of junior forward Sean Touey (Rockledge, Pa.), 2-1 (74:08). Holy Family University continued to pressure following the goal and was able to crowd the box with their front 10 after a late Griffin foul gave senior goalkeeper Mark Tobin (Philadelphia, Pa.) a restart just beyond midfield. The Tiger keeper sent the strike just under the cross bar, evening the affair with just 26 seconds to play in regulation (89:35). The tally tied the contest, 2-2, and precipitated the first overtime frame.

Following a scoreless 10 minutes, a second extra frame ensued. There, a left-flank serve from senior defenseman Davis Habilaj (Philadelphia, Pa.) found junior midfielder Dakota Taylor (Willow Grove, Pa.) for the game-winning strike, 3-2 (101:15).

McIntyre recorded four of Chestnut Hill College's 14 shots, while freshman goalkeeper Mahmoud Mahmoud (Falls Church, Va.) (0-4-3) made a handful of remarkable saves (4).

Chestnut Hill College continues their CACC schedule on Tuesday, October 5, when they travel to Georgian Court University for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
