Griffins Conclude Season with 1-1 Tie with Lions

The Chestnut Hill college men's soccer team closed out their season Wednesday night with a 1-1 tie against Georgian court University at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.
 
The Griffins finish their season with a 2-11-5 overall record and a 1-7-4 record in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  Georgian court finishes with a 4-10-3 record and 3-6-3 in league play.

Chestnut Hill got on the board first as Juan Ortiz took a pass from Christian Torres for his eighth goal of the season.   Meanwhile Griffin goalkeeper Eran Shifris was  perfect, stopping all four shots on goal by the Lions in the period.

The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Griffins until the 76th minute when GCU's Ibrahim Madad headed a shot into the net past Stephen Connor, who replaced Shifris at halftime, tying the game at 1-1. 

The Lions continued to put pressure on the Griffins but the team responded and held off the Georgian court attack which included three corner kicks and two shots, one on goal to come away with the tie.

Georgian Court finished the game with 15 total shots (six on goal) while Chestnut Hill had nine shots (seven on goal).  The Lions had 14 corner kicks to the Griffins four.

The Chestnut Hill College Men's soccer team has now concluded their season.
