The Chestnut Hill College Women's bowling team won a pair of matches in the second day of the James Brown Invitational, hosted by Morgan State University and held at the AMF Towson Lanes in Towson, Maryland.
The Griffins went 2-3 on the day with all matches being played in the traditional format. Chestnut Hill faced two nationally ranked Division I teams along with a third D-I program as well as two non-division I schools.
Maddie Gannon (Glenolden, Pa.) Â was the Griffins lead bowler on the day, averaging 201.8 in her five matches and ranking 14
th among 74 bowlers. Gannon was also the top bowler among all non-division I schools

The opening match of the day was against Mount Aloysius College. Three Griffins bowled 150 or better as the team earned a 754-746 win. Gannon led the team with a 166 while
Jess Hollabaugh (Folsom, Pa.) Â bowled a 162.Â
Chase Clifford (Philadelphia, Pa.) bowled a career high 152 in the match.
Nationally ranked Maryland-Eastern Shore (#16) was the Griffins next opponent, handing Chestnut Hill a 1-61-870 defeat. Hollabaugh led the team with a score of 212 while Gannon bowled the first of her three '200' games with a score of 200.Â
Hope Widmer (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) bowled 191.
The Griffins set a new team-high for the season in match #3, defeating Fayetteville State University 955-913. Gannon,
Eryn Moore (Bainbridge, Pa.), and Widmer all broke the 200-mark bowling 224, 214 and 207 respectively. Hollabaugh added a score of 191.
Coppin State University defeated Chestnut Hill in match #4, 920-828. Hollabaugh and Gannon led the team with identical scores of 192.
Gannon bowled her high match of the day in the Griffins final match of the afternoon, rolling a 227 as the Griffins fell to #11 Duquesne University 1105-888. Â Moore added a score of 209.
The Griffins finished the day with a cumulative score of 4,199 and a two-day total of 8,470, finishing in 13
th place out of 14 schools. The team will be back in action at the James Brown Invitational for the brackets finals of the best of seven bakers Sunday morning.
