The Chestnut Hill college women's softball team lost a pair of games on their second day of their Florida Spring trip, falling to Millersville, 15-1 and to University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown 5-2.

Opening the day against Millersville, the Marauders scored 12 times in the first inning and added three more runs before Chestnut Hill got on the board.  In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kayla Rolon  (Brooklyn, N.Y.) hit her first collegiate home run, an inside the park shot to the deepest part of the outfield.

Jordan Tavarez (Hammonton, N.J.) took the loss for the Griffins.  She struck out seven batters in the five innings pitched.

In the Griffins second game, IPJ jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning before the Griffins tied thing up in their half of the second. Ariana Carreno (Pompano Beach, Fla.) doubled and later scored on a single by pitcher Lily Reid (Texas City, Texas).

The Mountain Cats scored twice in their half of the second to retake the lead 3-1 and added solo runs in third and fourth innings to lead 5-1.  The Griffins got one back in the top half of the sixth as Steph Tonuci (Barrington, N.J.) singled and later scored on Rolon's triple, closing the gap to 5-2.    The Griffins did not score in their final at-bat as the Mountain Cats earned the win.
