Season Ends for Women's Bowling team with a Loss to Golden Falcons at CACC Championship

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team's season came to an end Saturday morning at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament when the Griffins lost their match against Felician University 2-1 and were eliminated from the competition.  The tournament took place at Pike Lanes in Southampton, Pennsylvania.

Felician opened the match with a 954-832 win in traditional play.    Jess Hollabaugh led CHC with a score of 184 while Gabriella Munsey bowled a 167.

The Griffins stayed alive in the match by winning the baker format portion of the mega-match, 962-911 with Eryn Moore and Munsey filling all ten frames bowled.   Chestnut Hill opened the match with a 36 pin lead after the first game and increased it to 44 after two.  The Golden Falcons gained 13 pins in the third game to cut the Griffins lead to 31 and cut the lead to 8 with a 23 pin advantage in the fourth game.  Chestnut Hill finished strong, outscoring Felician 208-165 in the fifth game to even the mega-match at 1-1 with a 962-911 win. 

A best-of-seven baker match format was used to determine the winner.  The golden Falcons won the first two games, 185-148 and 162-147.  The Griffins took the third game 158-136.  Felician however captured the final two games, 190-147 and 179-151 to win the best of seven series 4-1 and the mega-match 2-1, ending the Griffins season.

Moore and Kayleina McGonigal filled eight of ten frames in the best-of-seven series.  Moore finished the day filling 24 of 30 frames (80%) over the three games.

Chestnut Hill finished the season with a 43-60 overall record and three top ten regular season tournament finishes.
