The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team completed their regular season series with Jefferson University Saturday afternoon, losing to the Rams 5-2 at the CHC Tennis Courts.
The Griffins fall to 8-7-1 with the loss and 3-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Rams improve to 8-0 in league play and 15-4 overall.
The Rams took the first point of the match after winning two of the three doubles matches. Chestnut Hill's only doubles win came at #1 doubles as
Noah Cutting and
Antonio Franquis defeated Hannibal Borg and E. Soto Ballester, 6-2.
Jefferson took the first two singles matches, winning at #5 and #6 singles to lead 3-0 before Cutting put the Griffins on the board, defeating Borg at #1 singles when Borg retired in the second set with Cutting leading 7-6 (8-6), 2-0.
With the score 3-1 the Rams clinched the win as Soto Ballester defeated
Menno Raemaekers 6-3, 6-4 at #4 singles.  Chestnut Hill earned their final point as
Tiago Lima defeated Jules Thibault 6-2, 7-5 at #3 singles.
The men's tennis team will play their final two conference games of the season on Tuesday and Wednesday, traveling to Post University on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, for a 3 p.m. match and returning home on Wednesday April 24 for a match against Dominican University. First serve on Wednesday is at 2 p.m.
