In their final regular season home contest of 2024, the Chestnut Hill college men's tennis team completed a season sweep of Dominican University with a 5-2 win over the Chargers Wednesday afternoon at the CHC Tennis courts.

The Griffins finish the regular season with a 9-8-1 overall record and a 4-5 record in Central Atlantic collegiate conference games.  Dominican ends their season with a 1-10 overall mark and 0-9 in league play.

The Chargers did score the first point of the match, winning two of the three doubles contests.  Chestnut Hill's only win at doubles was at the #2 slot where Tiago Lima and Antonio Franquis recorded a 6-2 win over John Bruno and Qalib Ladhani.

Franquis evened the match at 1-1 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Ali Zizi at #1 singles while Joao Sousa gave the Griffins a 2-1 lead beating Ladhani 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles.  Lima followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Jorge Catala at #3 singles to boost the Griffins lead in the match to 3-1.

The Griffins clinched the match win with a victory at #5 singles as Filippo Relecom scored a 7-5, 6-3 win over Bruno.    Chestnut Hill scored its final point with a three-set thriller at 34 singles with Pedro Vicente coming away with a 6-4, 1-6 6-4 win over Leonhard Fleisch.

The men's tennis team finished as the #3 seed for the CACC Tournament and will travel to face #2 seed Post university for the first round of the CACC Tournament on Saturday, April 27. The winner will face top seed Jefferson University for the conference championship on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the CHC Tennis Courts.
