The Chestnut Hill College Men's Soccer team celebrated their seniors at their final home game of the season Saturday afternoon against the University of Bridgeport. The Purple Knights scored twice in the second half to come away with a 2-0 win.
The Griffins fall to 6-9-1 overall and 2-6-1 in Central Atlantic collegiate Conference games. The Purple Knights improve to 5-4-7 overall and 4-0-5 in league play.
Prior to the game, the Griffins recognized seven senior players who would be playing in their final home game of their college careers. Seniors Jose Ricardo Cuadra, Abdoulaye Kamagate, Milan Umeoka, Andres Gomez, Dane Bodziak, Terrance Doe and Rodrigo Artiga were all recognized by the program and the athletics department for their accomplishments on the pitch as well as their accomplishments in the classroom.
Back to game action, both teams played a scoreless first half with the Purple Knights getting off six total shots to the Griffins three. Both teams had two shots on goal.
The second half remained scoreless but the Purple Knights were putting pressure on the Griffin defense. Bridgeport finally broke through with a score in the 74th minute and added in insurance goal in the 79th minute to make the final score 2-0.
Artiga finished the game with nine saves in net for the Griffins.
The men's soccer team will conclude their season on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 with a game at Jefferson University. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
