Luciana D'Andrea and Kylie Weist scored their first collegiate goals as the Chestnut Hill College women's soccer team had their highest scoring output of the season to date, defeating Post University 4-1 Friday night at LaMoy Field in Waterbury, Connecticut.
The Griffins improve to 3-3-2 overall and 3-1 in Central Atlantic collegiate Conference games. The Eagles fall to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in league play
Luciana D'Andrea's goal at the 42:09 mark gave the Griffins a 2-1 lead that they would never relinquish. Lorenza D'Andrea assisted on the goal by her sister. Lorenza D'Andrea also scored the Griffins first goal of the game, her third of the season at the 29:59 mark, tying the game at 1-1
Post's Avia Burns tallied the Eagles only score at the 5:57 mark.
The second half saw the Griffins continue to control the tempo of play and as the half wore on it paid off. Weist broke free to score in the 69th minute with Alyssa Browning and Lorenza D'Andrea assisting. Browning then scored the Griffins final goal, her second of the season with Brigid Johnston getting the assist.
Haley Esposito picked up the win in goal for the Griffins, her third of the season. Esposito recorded five saves
Lorenza D'Andrea led the Griffins with six shots ( two on goal) while Browning added five (three on goal). Emma Fitzgerald had four shots (one on goal) while Luciana D'Andrea had three shots (two on goal). Weist also had two shots on goal.
For the game, the Griffins outshot the Eagles 23-12 Â (12-6 on net) and earned four corner kicks while Post had two.
The women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 when they host Jefferson University at Victory Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
