Biography
FRESHMAN (2008) - In his rookie campaign, Ward led the Griffins in each race and he concluded the year with a Central Atlantic College Conference (CACC) All-Conference selection and the team's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. His 28:10 (14th) finish at the CACC Meet was his best finish of the season and was one of four top 20 finishes. He was named the CACC Male Rookie Runner of the Week three times (Sept. 2, Sept. 8, & Sept. 15). Ward was one of three Griffins to compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) East Regional Meet in Boston, Massachusetts on Nov. 11. He completed the 10K race in 35:40 for 90th place.
SOPHOMORE (2009) - Led the Griffins five of six races he competed in with his best performance coming at the Paul Short Invitational (Lehigh) on October 2 where he placed 100th with a time of 28:20. He beat his 2008 time by 5:25. He placed 21st at the CACC Championship Meet, leading the Griffins with a time of 29:44.45. Ward repeated as the team's Most Valuable Player (MVP). He also earned Chestnut Hill College Academic Honor Roll recognition for the fall 2009 semester.
JUNIOR (2010) - Ward three-peated as the team's Most Vaulable Player (MVP) after leading the Griffins in four meets. His best 8K time came with a 29th (30:23.32) place finish at the Cabrini College Invitational on October 23. He finished 8th (31:24.11) at the Belmont Classic on October 2 in his other leading performance. Ward finsihed 21st (30:20.92, 5 miles) at the CACC Championship Meet on November 7 and 123rd (36:34, 10K) at the NCAA East Regional on November 21. Academically, Ward was recognized on the CACC All-Academic Team and earned Chestnut Hill College Academic Honor Roll status for both semesters (fall 10 and spring 11).
