Biography

FRESHMAN (2015) – Bensen-Abatangelo was recognized on the Chestnut Hill College Spring 2015 Athletics Academic Honor Roll and took home Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors after reporting four top-ten finishes. She placed 4th (12:20.26) in the 3,000 meter at the Frank Colden Invitational on February 7, 6th (5:45.68) in the 1,500 meter and 7th (2:54.39) in the 800 meter at the University of Delaware Classic on April 25, and 7th (22:01.17) in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship on May 3.

SOPHOMORE (2016) – Bensen-Abatangelo earned the 2015-16 Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award, a spot on the 2016 CACC Spring All-Academic team, and recognition on the Chestnut Hill College fall 2015 and spring 2016 Athletics Academic Honor Roll. She placed 21st in the 3,000 meter (12:27.98; season best) at the Philadelphia College Classic on March 19. Bensen-Abatangelo finished eighth in the 1,500 meter (5:38.33) at the St. Joseph’s Spring Opener on March 26. She competed in the 5,000 meter (22:28.46) and the 1,500 meter at the 2016 Danny Curran Invitational April 1-2. Bensen-Abatangelo finished 22nd in the 800 meter (2:52.11; season best) at the Mid-Week Twilight Invitational on April 13. She finished 68th in the 1,500 meter (5:32.89; season best) Widener Invitational April 22-23. Bensen-Abatangelo placed 11th in the 5,000 meter (21:10.81; season best) at the CACC Outdoor Championship on May 1.

JUNIOR (2017) Bensen-Abotangelo finished 38th in the 1500 meter (5:19.37; season best) at the Lions Invitational April 28-29 and she finished 49th in the 5000 meter (20:41.94; season best) at the Widener Invitational the week before. At the CACC Championship, she accumulated a third place finish with a time of 44:30.29 in the 10,000 meter.  She was a member of the fall Chestnut Hill College Honor Roll and the 2017 CACC All-Academic team.

SENIOR (2018) Bensen-Abotangelo captained the Griffins in her final season at Chestnut Hill College. She finished 25th in the 3000 meter (12:18.20; season best; Frank Colden Invitational), she was a member of the 4X800 (10:16.05; Ospery Open and Multi Meet) “A” team, and finished in an impressive 2nd (44:25.45; season best) place at the CACC Championship on May 6. She was a member of the Spring 2018 Chestnut Hill College Honor Roll and the 2018 CACC All-Academic team.
