Biography
FRESHMAN (2016-2017) – Mezzatesta was a key component to the success of Chestnut Hill College’s 2016-2017 season, competing in 11 tournaments, and finishing the year with an 82.6 stroke average. His performances at the Philadelphia University Invitational (T32nd, 84, +12), Post Eagles Invitational (T57th, 85-78, 163, +21), Revolutionary Collegiate Classic (T6th, 77-77, 154, +10), and Griffin Invitational (11th, 81, +11) earned him the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) October Rookie of the Month award. He was also recognized on the CACC Golf Weekly Honor Roll on April 6 after recording his only top-10 finish of the season (T4th, 79, +7) at the Charger Classic (4/1). Mezzatesta was recognized with the team's Coach's Award at season’s end.
SOPHOMORE (2017-2018) – Mezzatesta had another prosperous year at Chestnut Hill College, finishing the year as the team’s top striker with an average round of 79.4 strokes. At Jefferson the sophomore paced the field with an 80 (+8) and finished overall 13th (79-77, 156, +14) aiding in his first of three CACC Weekly Roll mentions. He garnered his second honor at the Post University’s Eagles Invitational On October 10, where he was one of the top performers finishing 15th (78-75, 153, +11), with a second-round 75 (+4). Finally, at the Jefferson tri-match on October 22, Mezzatesta finished second on the individual leaderboard and captured his third CACC Weekly Honor Roll appearance with his round of 77 (+5).
JUNIOR (2018-2019) – Mezzatesta served as a team captain and was recognized with the Coach’s Award for his intangible contributions to the team's success. He was one of two student-athletes to compete in all 16 rounds (11 Tournaments), offered the Scarlet and Gold’s second best scoring average with 78.6 strokes per round, and was named to the CACC Golf Weekly/Monthly Honor Roll on three occasions (9/19, 10/24, 5/6). His first such appearance came on September 19, following a fifth-place (77, +6) at the Swarthmore College/Neumann University’s Frederick W. Anton III Memorial. Mezzatesta finished the fall schedule strong, earning his second CACC Golf Weekly Honor Roll appearance with a tie for 23rd place (77-74; 151, +7). He did the same at the conclusion of the spring season, capturing a CACC Golf Monthly Honor Roll (April) with a 15th place finish (81-78; 159, +15) at the Assumption College Invitational (4/13-14) and a fifth-place tie (75, +3) at the Jefferson Invitational (4/16). Mezzatesta was a member of the Chestnut Hill College Spring 2019 Athletics Academic Honor Roll.
