Ty Taylor

Before joining the Chestnut Hill College women’s basketball coaching staff in 2011, Coach Ty Taylor had spent the past two seasons as the first assistant and recruiting coordinator for Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.  Prior to arriving at Cheney University, Taylor spent four seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Harcum College. Coach Taylor compiled a 77-37 (.675) record at Harcum College, accumulating the most wins in program history.
 
While at Harcum College, Taylor won a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Championship in 2006, a Region XIX Division II Coach of the Year, and reached the tournament’s final four, three times. Before taking over as head coach at Harcum College, Coach Taylor served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Haverford College for four seasons.  Coach Taylor has also been the head varsity girls’ basketball coach at Radnor High School and an assistant girls’ basketball coach at Lansdale Catholic High School.  Taylor has extensive camp experience, working the five summers as the Director of Basketball Operations at Philly Point Guard Camp.  He has also instructed at camps such as: Sixers Camps, Haverford College, Lehigh University, Princeton University, University of Maryland, and the University of Pennsylvania.
 
Coach Taylor is a native of Philadelphia and is a 1987 graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys.  He continued his academic studies at Misericordia College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. Currently, Taylor resides in Delaware County with his wife and three children.
