Matthew Balcer (2012-2016) joined the Chestnut Hill College golf coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2017-2018 season. A three-year captain (2013-2016), Balcer led the Griffins to produce back-to-back National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Regional appearances (2014-2015), 2015-2016), a five-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week recipient, and named as a 2016 Philadelphia Open qualifier.
He finished his collegiate career as the College's first four-time Coach's Award winner and a three-year Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member.Â
Currently, Balcer works at Jefferson University Hospital as a project manager.
