Casey Huckel was selected to be the fourth Head Coach of the Chestnut Hill College men’s soccer program prior to the 2014 season. Huckel joined the Chestnut Hill College men’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2013 season and possesses a wealth of experience with game preparation and field strategy.
Huckel began his coaching career as varsity head coach for boys’ soccer at Franklin Towne Charter High School (2004-2010), who he led to seven straight league playoffs, four district titles, and four state playoff appearances. At the collegiate level, Huckel began coaching as an assistant coach with the Arcadia University men’s soccer program before serving as an assistant for the Saint Joseph’s University men’s soccer program in April 2012. Following his tenure with the Hawks, Huckel focused heavily on his scouting abilities as a Regional Scout for Sporting Kansas City (March 2014-present) and Reading United AC (May 2013-present). With Reading United AC, Huckel functioned as a tactical scout, responsible for compiling detailed reports on opponents’ strengths and weaknesses in attack, defense, transitioning, and set pieces. As a regional scout with Sporting Kansas City, Huckel fulfilled a similar role that included the evaluation of collegiate and Premier Development League (PDL) players with the potential for play in Major League Soccer (MLS).
Huckel holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “C” License and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Goalkeeping Level II Diploma. He graduated from La Salle University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a minor in mathematics. He earned his master’s degree in coaching education from Ohio University in May 2013 and currently resides in Philadelphia with his wife, Pam, and their two daughters, Mackenzie and Scarlett.
