Michael Goldstein '13

After four seasons as the starting goalkeeper for Chestnut Hill College, 2009-2012, Goldstein joined the men’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant in 2013. He was a two-year captain and Coach’s Award winner in both his freshman and senior seasons, before finishing his collegiate career as the Griffins all-timer leader in saves (282), wins (18), and shutouts (12).
 
Goldstein gained valuable coaching experience with the Continental Football Club (FC) and YSC of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Before joining the Griffins coaching staff, Goldstein served as an assistant coach for the Continental FC U-9, U-11 while also serving as a goalkeeping coach for the U-14, U-16, and U-18 Continental FC Development Academy teams. In 2011 and 2012, he was an assistant and goalkeeper coach in the Player Development Program at the YSC. During that time he also assisted in the training of the Philadelphia Union Youth Academy goalkeepers. Goldstein also holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma and is currently pursuing a Level 2 Diploma, as well as, a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “E” license.
 
Showing the ability to lead early in his collegiate career, Goldstein was a four-year team representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a multiple time academic honoree for the Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll; Spring 2010, 2012, and 2013, and Fall 2010 and 2012. He also was a Division II Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Academic Achiever in 2012-2013 and a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team for the fall semester of 2011. After strong freshman and sophomore seasons, 2009-2010, he began serving as a captain at the start of his junior campaign before earning a second Coach’s Award in 2012.
 
In high school at Pennsauken, Goldstein was a two-year captain, two-time All-Jersey athlete, and three-time all-conference starter for the Indians. He currently resides in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
