Bruce Konyak was named Chestnut Hill College’s Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis coach in August of 2023.
Konyak becomes the becomes the seventh head coach in the history of the men's tennis team which started in 2004 and the 21st in the history of the women's team which dates back to 1933. The women's tennis team is currently the second oldest sports program in the history of the college.
Prior to becoming the Griffins head coach, Konyak served as the Griffins assistant coach from 2020-2022.
Konyak brings over two decades of coaching experience to the program, having served at the high school level for many years, including 14 at A.P Schalick High School as the boy’s tennis coach. During his high school career, Konyak won two division titles and was also a finalist for the South Jersey Championship.
A four year player at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), Konyak earned two NJAC all-Star selections in 1976 and 1977 while primarily ar #2 singles and #1 doubles.
He has played in USTA Middle-States tournaments for over 30 years and has been involved with teaching at numerous tennis camps in the South New Jersey Area. Konyak is also a certified NJHSTOA official.
