Eric Gibson was hired as the institution's Head Women's and Men's Tennis Coach in December of 2021.

Gibson becomes the sixth head coach in the history of the men's tennis team and the 20th in the history of the women's team which dates back to 1933.  The women's tennis team is currently the second oldest sports program in the history of the college.

"Coach Gibson has all of the qualities that we look for in our staff," says Director of Athletics Jesse Balcer.  "He is knowledgeable, has playing and coaching experience at the college level, and embodies the mission of the College.  I look forward to watching him take the tennis programs to new heights."

Gibson comes to Chestnut Hill following a stint as the Head Women's and Men's Tennis coach at Penn State-Abington, a Division III institution located in Montgomery County.  At PSU-Abington Gibson established a solid framework of values and expectations of his players while creating an optimistic, team-oriented philosophy and an environment of mutual respect within the program.

Prior to Penn State-Abington Gibson served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Kutztown University following his playing days at Kutztown in 2019.  Gibson also served as an assistant coach for the Wilson High School Boys Tennis Team in 2018 as part of his student teaching placement.

A former two-time tennis Most Valuable Player at Twin Valley High School in Elverson, Pennsylvania, Gibson went on earn his bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Kutztown and later a Masters Degree in English.
