Julius Twyman '12

After a noteworthy collegiate career with the Chestnut Hill College men’s tennis and cross country teams, Julius Twyman ’12 joined the men’s and women’s tennis coaching staff as an assistant in 2013. A four-year captain and All-Central Atlantic Collegiate (CACC) performer, Twyman assists Head Coach Albert Stroble and fellow Assistant Coach Andrew Silverman in all aspects of the programs’ preparation and play.
 
Twyman began serving as team captain in his rookie campaign after proving himself as a team leader during the fall season. At number one singles, he recorded a 6-12 standing while finishing 6-15 overall as an individual. In doubles, Twyman teamed for an 8-11 record in the number one team flight. He was an honorable mention for the CACC Rookie of the Week award on April 1 and earned the men's tennis Coach's Award at the annual Athletics Awards Reception. As a sophomore, Twyman continued to serve as team captain while adjusting to competition at number three singles. He finished the year 12-5 in the third individual flight and held the team's highest singles win total with a 15-10 overall standing. During the season, Twyman combined for a 15-8 record at number two doubles. He concluded the year as the doubles runner-up at the CACC Individual Championship Tournament, earning him All-CACC status and his second Coach's Award at the annual Athletic Awards Reception. As a junior, Twyman shared captain duties with Mario Gutierrez ’12 for the 2010-2011 season. He finished with a 12-7 overall record; including a 9-6 mark at number five singles. In doubles play, he went 12-8, teaming primarily at number three doubles for a 6-4 record. In his senior season, Twyman added on ten singles wins (10-12) and eight doubles wins (8-13) to finish his collegiate career as the program's all-time leader in singles (43-44) and doubles (44-43) victories.
 
During his collegiate career, Twyman gained valuable work experience in Athletics as a member of the Chestnut Hill College Game Management Staff and as a Co-Director and instructor at the College’s summer tennis camps. He currently resides in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.
