Michael Gospodarek

Michael Gospodarek took over as Chestnut Hill College's Head Softball Coach prior to the 2015 season. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the former head coach for Mayfair Athletic Club and assistant coach for Mount St. Joseph’s Academy, Archbishop Ryan High School, and junior Olympic team the Philadelphia Spirit, is an experienced softball coach who strives to develop successful student-athletes with a positive environment and strong team values.

The 2016 season was a historic one for the Griffins as the squad matched the program record for wins in a season (12), and set the record for conference wins nine. Gospodarek looks to continue the success he has had at the helm of successful softball programs at the club, high school, and international levels of competition. He expects the best from his players on and off the field and hold his program to high standards, “There is so much that we learn from the game. You give to the game, and the game definitely gives back.” A member of the National Softball Association (NSA), Gospodarek has qualified, and attended, six straight NSA World Series, including a seventh place (out of 114 teams) finish in 2008. In all, Gospodarek owns eight state titles accumulating from softball organizations like PONY, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA), and the NSA.
 
Gospodarek currently resides in northeast, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his three daughters, Jessica, Alyssa, and Hannah.
