Christine (King) Blakeney joined her husband’s coaching staff as an assistant with the Chestnut Hill College women’s bowling program in February of 2015. A local product, she was a former standout at Archbishop Prendergast High School before helping to lead the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) to a women’s bowling national championship in 2008.
A four-year member of the women’s bowling program at University of Maryland Eastern Shore (2005-2008), Blakeney was also a four-time Academic All-American. The Lady Hawks won a national championship in 2008, were runners-up in 2007, and captured three straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) titles from 2006 to 2008. Prior to her time at UMES, Blakeney was a part of three straight Philadelphia Catholic League championships at Archbishop Prendergast (2002-2004) and held the league’s top scoring average as a senior (2004).
Blakeney has worked for the federal government in some capacity since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Maryland Eastern Shore in 2008. She received a master’s degree in management from University of Maryland University College in 2012 and lives with her husband, Head Coach Michael Blakeney, in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.
