Assistant Coach Lauren Riiff joined her alma mater’s coaching staff in 2014 following a historic career with the Chestnut Hill College women’s soccer team (2008-2011). The program’s all-time leader in several offensive categories and a two-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year (2009 & 2011), Riiff became the first Daktronics Inc. All-American in the history of Chestnut Hill College Athletics in 2011. That year, she also earned All-East Region First Team recognition and garnered a Second Team All-Region selection from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Riiff was a four-time CACC All-Conference choice and earned a second NSCAA All-Region nod as a junior.
A two-year captain, Riiff made her mark on the program right away. As a freshman (2008), she finished with team highs of 12 goals and 8 assists, garnering a Second Team selection on the All-CACC squad. In just her third career game, Riiff established the program mark for points in a game (12) with five goals (tied for the school record) and two assists against Lincoln University.
She became captain for the first time as a sophomore (2009), when she topped the team in goals (12) and points (26), helping the Griffins to an 8-3-1 CACC record, a vast improvement from a 2-9 league finish a year prior. For her efforts, Riiff was named the conference’s Player of the Year and the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). She also received recognition on the CACC All-Tournament Team. As a junior (2010), Riiff posted a 14-goal, 4-assist campaign, netting a First Team nod on the All-CACC team and a Second Team All-Region laurel from the NSCAA.
As a senior (2011), Riiff led the league in goals (18), points (41), and shots (93), spearheading the Griffins’ third straight trip to the CACC playoffs and serving as a team co-captain for the third time. She finished the season ranked sixth in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II in goals per game (1.00) and ninth in points per game (2.28).
Riiff finished her collegiate career as the Griffins’ all-time leader in goals (56), points (130), shots (310), and shots on goal (142), as well as a close second in assists (18), games played (75), games started (68), and minutes played (4,245). She recorded six hat tricks and netted 14 game-winning goals, easily a College record.
Riiff graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She currently resides in Clementon, New Jersey.
