    Assistant Coach
Immediately following a four-year playing career (2011-2014) with the Chestnut Hill College women’s soccer program, Melissa Marotta joined the coaching ranks at her alma mater prior to the 2015 campaign. A two-year starter in the defensive backfield, Marotta served as team co-captain in 2014.

Marotta appeared in six contests as a freshman (2011) before playing in 10 the following season (2012). She carved out an integral role from that point on, starting 12 games as a junior and all 15 games as a senior, when she recorded her first collegiate point with an assist in the Griffins’ Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and Senior Day victory over Bloomfield College on October 25.

A dedicated student, Marotta was honored on the Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll in every semester which she was eligible, and was a member of the CACC’s Fall All-Academic Team from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, she made the Dean’s List every spring from 2012 to 2015. Also serving as the women’s soccer representative for the College’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Marotta earned the team’s Coach’s Award at the annual Athletics Awards Reception in 2014.

Marotta holds several years’ worth of coaching experience, thanks to three summers (2012-2015) at the United Speed Clinic Football Academy in Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, where she customized session plans, provided training and feedback to players, and enforced game rules and regulations. She has also served as a trainer with the clinic since 2009, developing and motivating players to reach their full potential. Since July, Marotta has worked as a product specialist at Tesla Motors in King of Prussia.

Marotta graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She currently resides in Flourtown, Pennsylvania.
